We made a lifestyle about-face and sold out of our city life to buy a rural property near Nelson, BC. My days are filled with writing, reading, off leash dog walks in the woods or along the river, growing some of our food, cooking most of our meals, socializing, knitting, Netflix binging, and playing outdoors.

My commute to work used to include elevator rides and a one-mile walk along city streets being zoomed by cars in crosswalks and dodging cyclists riding on the sidewalks. Today I wander across our property with a hot cup of coffee, dogs in tow, on the way to my treehouse writing studio.
