In Memoriam of Cash 20 June 2008 — 24 March 2020 For anyone who has ever had a dog, Cashie was one of those special ones. He communicated so effectively with his eyes and his rumbling chewbacca voice that he could actually ask me for things and boss me around. HIs favourite pastimes were running free in the fields around home, hunting for mice, and keeping a watch on the neighbourhood dogs. Cash and Jackson were always best buds and loved hanging out together especially in the winter. (Photo Credit: Dustin Lalik Photography) He was my best friend too. This photo was taken on our recent hike in the mountains near home in late December. Jackson and Cashie were already feeling down with the COVID-19 self-isolating blues before we had any idea what was coming so quickly around the corner. Cash made it very clear that he wasn’t feeling well. He was diagnosed with lymphoma on March 17th and went downhill with heartbreaking speed. I was absolutely shattered to see him so ill. In retrospect, I’m grateful that he lived so many years, had a doggie dream life, knew that he was so loved, and when his time came to leave us it happened quickly. This is our last photo together. He left such a huge hole in my day-to-day routine that I know I’m always going to miss him. Kate ArmstrongMay 10, 2020Comment Facebook0 Twitter Pinterest0 0 Likes
