RMC Athena Speed Networking Event
At the invitation of the RMC Athena Network, I attended their Speed Networking Event at RMC Kingston on 06 March 2025 as a mentor in celebration of International Women’s Day. The event took place from 1900-2200hrs in the RMC Cadet Mess. It was a blast to be back at the College, spending time with Cadets, Academic Faculty, and Military Administration Staff.
The Speed Networking Event evening consisted of sixteen mentors from various factions of the CAF and past serving members, like myself, meeting with groups of cadets, rotating from table to table every 15 minutes. Each table had two mentors who remained in place as cadets circulated and asked questions on specific topics.
Our table’s topic was: After the military and transition into civilian life. We had a fun evening sharing our experiences of what it was like serving in the CAF and then taking the leap to become professionals in the civilian workforce.
I was grateful to be invited to participate in a small social gathering back in the Stone Frigate with fellow Frigateers and to be gifted a momento that has a future in my upcoming sailing adventures.
